Jasmin Bungay is 2nd Runner Up in The Miss Globe 2024

Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2024 Jasmin Bungay was named 2nd runner-up at The Miss Globe pageant on October 15 in Albania.

Miss Globe 2023 Manvin Khera crowned Colombia’s Diana Moreno as her successor. Other runners-up are Thailand’s Prada Thansita Dilhokanansakul (1st RU), Germany’s Andromeda Schuster (3rd RU), and Vietnam’s Ha Trang Do (4th RU).

The Filipina beauty queen from Pampanga impressed in all segments of the pageant in Tirana, Albania. She slayed the semifinals night wearing the stunning silver gown by fashion designer Harvey Cenit and accessories by Christopher Munar.

For her national costume, she donned an intricate outfit designed by Chollo Ayuyao and inspired by Bituwing Marikit, or the beautiful star. This represents the stars in the midnight blue sky of the Middle Eastern countries where most Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) toil under and hope for a better future for their families. Jasmin is an advocate for the welfare and empowerment of OFWs worldwide.

In the swimwear round, she donned a purple one-piece bikini. At the evening gown competition, she elegantly graced the stage in two beautifully crafted gowns -- first in a fiery orange gown by Harvey Cenit, then in a silver gown with a heavenly blue cloth designed by Louis Pangilinan.

For the Q&A segment, Bungay delivered a strong response when she was asked to give her thoughts on how to keep real connections and show empathy as technology changed quickly.

"I believe that with the advancement of technology and the abuse that is prevalent now in the technological world, I believe to be emphatic is to live in the moment, to make sure that every moment is treasured not on the screen but in real life 'cause only when we have real connections, only when we connect with each other, face-to-face, physically then we can feel each other and then we can experience to the fullness of life”.

The Miss Globe 2024 is the pageant's 21st edition under the management of Deliart Association. A total of 42 contestants, including Bungay, competed for the crown. Past Binibini winners in The Miss Globe are Ann Lorraine Colis (2015) and Maureen Montagne (2021).
