When she left for Doral-Miami, Florida nearly a month ago to compete for the 63rdMiss Universe Pageant, part of us went with her. Filipinos prayed and hoped for the best. We united our hearts and cheered, Mary Jean Lastimosa for the win!
Now that the competition is over, our North Cotabato beauty returns as top 10 finisher, and we at BinibiningPilipinas Charities, Inc., together with the rest of Pinoys here and abroad could not be any more proud.
On January 29, members of the media and bloggers alike gathered en masse at the Banquet Hall of Gloria Maris Restaurant in Gateway Mall to give to MJ their warmest homecoming welcome.
Despite the absence of the illustrious crown, the turnout was enormous, as everybody was thrilled to see Lastimosa again.
An entourage of Binibining Pilipinas 2015 official candidates heralded the event, until the crowd broke into loud cheers, as poised and radiant MJ walked through the door.
The Binibining Pilipinas 2014 queens were also there to express their support to MJ, bringing with them congratulatory messages and heartfelt words of encouragement.

What made it even more special was the presence of kids from Operation Smile, a nonprofit medical service organization that MJ visited last October 2014, along with other Bb. Pilipinas queens. Nostalgic, MJ recounted her first encounter with the kids.
It was a sweet and memorable time as members of the press not only got the chance to personally congratulate MJ, lauding her for her stellar performances in the competition, but also as it paved the way for pageant matters to be clarified during their own private conversation with Lastimosa after the program.
"I would like to thank everyone for your support. Sobrang yung feeling ko after the pageant, sobra pa sa nanalo. I learned a lot from the pageant and wala akong regret. I did my best and super thank you for all your support." MJ Lastimosa enthused during the homecoming press conference that Binibining PIlipinas Charities, Inc. organized for her.
