Araneta City celebrates women rights and equality with #EachforEqual

Manila, Philippines – Araneta City takes part of the International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month celebrations with a series of events that promote the theme #EachforEqual: An Equal World in an Enabled World.

On March 8, 2020, the City of Firsts hosted a Women Empowerment Program, 2:00 pm at the Gateway Mall Activity Area. Binibining Pilipinas – Universe 2019 Gazini Ganados, Binibining Pilipinas – International 2019 Bea Patricia Magtanong, binibining Pilipinas – Intercontinental 2019 Emma Mary Tiglao, Binibining Pilipinas – Supranational 2019 Resham Saeed, Binibinig Pilipinas – Globe 2019 Leren Mae Bautista and Binibining Pilipinas – Grand International 2019 Aya Abesamis gave their inspirational talks on their roles as women leaders in their respective advocacies

Female dancers from Addlib Dance Studio also showcased a dance masterpiece that mirrors the struggles and the successes of women in the society.

The pedestrian lanes located at the intersection of General Aguinaldo and General Malvar Avenues will bleed purple, the official color of International Women’s Day.

Other related activities will follow in line of the National Women’s Month.

The Gateway Mall Activity Area will stage on March 13 to 15, 2020 The Women’s 2020 Marketplace, a market fair that will feature handcrafted and artisanal products from women entrepreneurs and sponsored communities to help promote their livelihood. This event is in partnership with SPARK!, the British Embassy Manila, Austrian Embassy Manila, Sweden Embassy Manila, Embassy of France to the Philippines, Terre des Hommes, Quezon City Government, and Rustan’s Department Store.

The ribbon cutting on March 13, 10:00 am, will be attended by Ms. Korina Sanchez-Roxas and the respectable ambassadors to the Philippines from Great Britain, Austria, Sweden, and France.

The Gateway Cineplex also joins the month-long celebration with a Women's Film Festival that will showcase the narratives of and by women, and will spread awareness on the stories and struggles that they continue to experience. The festival will feature the following films:
