DIANNE NECIO OFF TO CONQUER MISS INTERNATIONAL

The Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. gave a warm send off to Bb. Pilipinas-International 2011 Dianne Necio at the Gateway Suites recently. Giving her heartwarming support were the rest of the Bb. Pilipinas 2011 winners including Ms. Universe 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup, Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism Isabella Manjon, 1st runner-up Janine Tugonon and 2nd runner up MJ Lastimosa.

Dianne has been undergoing rigorous training since she bagged the local crown in April. This includes regular workouts in the gym and personality development training with Dale Carnegie. She has also taken up basic language training in Japanese, Mandarin and Spanish, languages that she may encounter in the course of the competition. Apart from these, past Bb. Pilipinas beauties such as Ms. Universe 2010 4th runner up Venus Raj, Jennifer Barrientos and Patricia Fernandez have been assisting her in the rudiments of competition.

But personal preparation is what Dianne has been focusing on recently. In this area, Ms. Universe-Philippines 2011 Shamcey Supsup has been a great help. "Sabi sa akin ni Shamcey, dapat huwag daw ako ma-intimidate. Just believe in yourself", Dianne says, "Tapos binigyan niya ako ng tip tungkol sa ibang candidates because some of them also competed in Miss Universe."

Dianne leaves on October 20 for Chengdu, China where the Miss International 2011 competition will be held. She is excited about the flurry of activities that are included in the Miss International itinerary, including the visit to the panda reserve. She will be spending about 17 days in China and will compete on November 6.

She is also happy that the competition will be in an Asian country because the locals may be easier to relate to and it is closer to home. However, her anticipation is also tinged with a little bit of sadness, especially when she recalls her dad who passed away almost right after she bagged the Bb. Pilipinas-International 2011 title. "Medyo malungkot ako na wala na ang papa ko kase wala na akong cheering squad. Masakit sa loob na hindi ko siya makakausap bago ako lumaban, katulad ng dati. Pero alam ko na he is in a better place now, walang pain, walang sickness, and he will be rooting for me up there. Kaya lalo meaningful sa akin ang pagsuporta ng mga Pilipino. If I win, I will dedicate the crown to my country and my family," Dianne promises.

When asked if she will do the now famous "tsunami walk" of Shamcey, Dianne laughs saying, "Hindi siguro. Gagawa ako ng ibang panggulat na bagay naman sa akin."

So after the amazing finishes of Venus and Shamcey, will the third queen be the charm? Will the Philippines finally bag the much coveted international crown? Let's watch Dianne Necio wow the Miss International 2011 stage on November 6 and find out.
