Krista Kleiner is among top 15 beauties for global society

A breath of fresh air in Czarina Gatbonton

Philippine bet Krista Kleiner now has the honor of being one of 15 of the world’s most beautiful women who can make a difference in global society. Aside from landing in the top 15, Krista is the only candidate who won two special awards: Miss Talent and Miss Expressive. The Miss International title went to Venezuelan Elizabeth Mosquera.

Though experienced as a GMA Artist Center talent, joining Miss International is Krista’s first opportunity at competing in a global environment. Nevertheless, she wowed foreign audiences and fellow candidates with her amazing talents including her dexterity with the nanchaku. During the talent portion of this year’s Miss International competition, Krista once again mesmerized the audience with her rendition of an original song that she co-wrote with R&B singer boyfriend Jay-R.

This year’s Miss International pageant was held under the theme “achieving world peace through mutual understanding”. Also referred to as the “Olympics of Beauty”, the Miss International pageant encourages competition not only based on beauty, but to represent the global community toward a common goal of upholding social and ecological welfare.

Sixty-eight contestants from all over the world competed this year, making pageant history as the most participated in 50 years. Following Miss International Elizabeth Mosquera as this year’s winners are Thailand’s Piyaporn Deejing (first runner-up) and China’s Si Yi Yuan (second runner-up). Rounding up the top 15 are Krista Kleiner, Costa Rica's Mariela Aparicio, France's Florima Treiber, Germany's Johanna Acs, India's Neha Hinge, Japan's Etsuko Kanagae, South Korea's Ko Hyeon-yeong, Peru's Laura Spoya, Puerto Rico's Aideliz Hidalgo, Serbia's Anja Šaranović, Spain's Desirée Panal, and Turkey's Dilay Korkmaz.
